US Weight Set: My Teenage Son's Journey from Couch Potato to Fitness Warrior

Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2023

As a father who has spent years attempting to pry my teenage son away from his video games and into the realm of physical fitness, I had all but given up hope. That is, until I stumbled upon the US Weight 54 LB Weight Set for home gym with a 55” padded bar. With a stroke of luck and a dash of Les Mills Body Pump workouts, I now proudly watch as my boy transforms from a couch-dwelling hobbit to a lean, mean fitness machine.
Upon receiving the weight set, I was immediately struck by its quality. The 54-pound assortment of plates and padded bar seemed like the perfect gateway into the world of exercise for my video game-loving son. As I unpacked the set, I couldn't help but imagine my boy's biceps bulging with newfound strength, his posture standing tall and proud like a fitness Adonis.
The moment of truth came when I introduced my son to the magic of Les Mills Body Pump workouts. I held my breath, wondering if this would be another failed attempt at getting him to embrace a healthier lifestyle. To my amazement, the combination of the US Weight Set and the high-energy Body Pump workouts struck a chord within him. It was as if I had unlocked a secret level in the video game of life, granting my son access to a world of physical prowess and determination.
My boy quickly became a regular at our home gym, his enthusiasm for fitness growing with each workout. The US Weight Set proved to be a versatile and user-friendly addition to our fitness arsenal. With the padded bar and adjustable plates, my son was able to customize his workouts to suit his level of ability and progress at his own pace.
Soon enough, I found myself beaming with pride as I watched my teenager squat, press, and curl his way to a healthier, happier version of himself. Our home gym had become a battlefield, where my son conquered his former sedentary ways and emerged a victorious fitness warrior.
In conclusion, the US Weight 54 LB Weight Set with the 55” padded bar has become a vital tool in my son's transformation. Paired with Les Mills Body Pump workouts, it has ignited a newfound passion for fitness that has left me, as a father, both impressed and proud. I would highly recommend this weight set to any parent looking to help their teenager discover the joys of exercise. Just be prepared for the inevitable flex-off contests and the constant requests to "feel the guns" – a small price to pay for a healthier, happier child.

Perfect for a home gym!

Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2024

Style: 54LBColor: TealVerified Purchase

Bought these weights for my home gym and the quality is amazing! And, to my surprise, the weights also have a small flat surface on them, which stops them from rolling when you set them down. The clamps are strong and sturdy and the bar is built with its own padding. Totally worth the money!

Great for bodypump classes!!

Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2024

Style: 54LBColor: TealVerified Purchase

I use this during my body pump classes. The clamps are easy to put on and take off. The weights have a comfortable grip for using as handheld weights and the bar has a nice pad for your hands. Easiest and quickest assembly ever. Longest part is taking it all out of the package which only took an overall of 5 min from start to finish. My friends and I who workout together all are very satisfied. We all own our own set. Another nice feature is the weights have a small area that has a flat edge for setting down without them rolling away. Highly recommend!!

Great for Home Workouts

Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2025

Style: 54LBColor: TealVerified Purchase

I love this compact barbell with weights because I can use it for morning workouts in my small home office four days a week and easily store it out of the way. It’s great for deadlifts, lunges, squats, etc., and I’ve found slowing down my reps and increasing the number of sets ensures this set of weights continues to challenge me, several months after purchase. I’ve had no difficulty loading or securing the weights; the clamp is absolutely fine.
